Anniversary Update

This update has been a big amount of work. It started off as just changing one or two things and try to stabilize the game, and it turned a bit bigger than that.

To celebrate this update and year, the game will be free for a week, when I get permission to do so from Steam

Stability and performance

The loading/preloading system has been totally changed to avoid deadlocks (not the game) and conflicts in resource access. This should avoid the game from crashing, especially at the start, and avoid the game from deadlocking especially from the MegaDie event.

A few issues with steam input controllers leading to game crashes or simply not working should also be resolved.

Main new gameplay features

New gamemode «Challenge» can be found in shop. A cool mode with very challenging coop maps for people who like platforming puzzles.

Almost all levels were tweaked to change the camera zoom in the level, allowing more space to be used as a playground. Some levels were reworked for this.

Almost full changelog

  • Camera zoom changed for almost all arenas, many levels tweaked

  • Pogostick hold jump fixed, jump without bounce buffed a bit

  • Tweak Rugby's physics

  • GloveBox's hit was tweaked to be less chaotic. It will now destroy less terrain and allow you to jump

  • Blackhole effect and attraction totally reworked

  • Eater effect was tweaked

  • New event 'Frozen'

  • New killscreen 'Burn'

  • Basketball arenas now may have moving basket

  • Rain and Snow backgrounds now change the physics slightly

  • Removed the 'Die' event

  • Changed the way MegaDie works (more random, less instant)

  • New powerup 'DDOS'

  • 11 new arenas

  • Fix some issues with the death effect

  • Challenge game mode (15 maps for now)

  • Hide scoreboard in lobby

  • Score now shrinks on player's death, and he can interact with it once dead

  • New happy emote

  • Display the current players in duel in HUD (only in duel mode)

  • Fix menu button text scaling in choice buttons

  • Fix some issues with music playing and stopping

  • Enhance the handling of custom audio effects

  • Change the way preloads are handled to avoid concurrency issues in resource loading

  • Don't try to access a key that doesn't exist if Steam Input isn't initialized yet

  • Increase the number of coins gained for each level

  • Move to Godot 4.6 (better 2D performance)

  • Challenges cannot be tried in sandbox...unless...

  • Slightly enhance lobby backgrounds

  • Fix the grid background in the Spiral background

  • Fix eyes looking direction in the Void background

  • Add proper controller configurations for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Elite and Switch Pro controllers

  • Remove "Color Swap" and "Hide points" options, make color swap always possible and points always shown in-game
