Project RAZE Demo Update Is Live!

Today I am releasing a major update for the Project RAZE demo, introducing new progression systems, major UI improvements, gameplay refinements, and a special announcement regarding what's coming next.

VORA Arrives June 14th

Many of you have been asking when you'll finally be able to sink your teeth into the third mission of the campaign.

I am happy to confirm that VORA, the second boss of the demo, will become available on June 14th at the start of Steam Next Fest.

Mission 3 is unlike anything currently available in the demo. This encounter will introduce a brand-new boss battle and reveal more about one of the greatest threats lurking within the universe of Project RAZE.

More details will be revealed closer to launch. Steam post image

New Combat Modules System

One of the biggest additions in this update is the introduction of Combat Modules.

Instead of the old melee slam, players can now choose from three different Combat Modules that complement their playstyle. Whether it's the devastating Groundbreaker, the defensive Phalanx Shield, or the stamina-regenerating Reclaimer, each module serves a unique role in combat.

🛡️ Phalanx Shield

Projects a directional energy barrier in front of RZ-01 that scales with maximum health, absorbing incoming frontal damage until destroyed or deactivated.

Deploying the barrier consumes 20 stamina, followed by continuous stamina drain while active. Offensive actions are unavailable while Phalanx is active.

🔥 Groundbreaker

Consumes 80 stamina to unleash a powerful shockwave around RZ-01, dealing damage equal to 10% of her maximum health to all nearby enemies.

⚡ Reclaimer

Passively restores 3% of maximum stamina for each enemy eliminated, allowing RZ-01 to sustain mobility and combat systems during extended engagements.

Mission Timer Rework

I have completely redesigned the mission timer interface to provide clearer information during combat.

The old display has been replaced with a new visual timer bar that instantly shows how much mission time remains and how much has already been consumed.

I've also added:

  • A dedicated death counter

  • A "Next Death Penalty" indicator

  • Improved readability during high-intensity combat

Players can now immediately see exactly how much time will be lost upon their next death, making the game's core mechanic much easier to understand at a glance. Steam post image

Additional Changes

Gameplay

  • Energy Walls have been reworked. Instead of dealing many rapid damage ticks, they now instantly eliminate the player on contact. This improves performance while making these hazards far more dangerous.

  • Multiple weapon adjustments to improve responsiveness, accuracy, and overall feel.

  • Various map improvements to increase readability and make objectives easier to identify and understand.

  • Objective descriptions have been rewritten for greater clarity.

Technical

  • Numerous bug fixes.

  • General performance improvements.

  • Better loading times.

  • Significantly reduced demo install size.

Thank you to everyone who has been playing the demo, submitting feedback, reporting issues, and competing on the leaderboards.

This update is only the beginning. I can't wait for you to experience the arrival of VORA when Steam Next Fest begins on June 14th.

Good luck, and stay tuned for more news about Project RAZE ⚔️
