This small patch implements several improvements we learned during the Quest 3 port to maintain visual quality while improving performance. Most changes will not be noticeable to the naked eye.
Made longer audio files stream in to reduce stutters
Replaced background bottles in the staffroom with tailored opaque bottles to improve draw call performance
Created a special unlit shader that uses the average light probe color to maintain a flat look with correct environmental coloring. This will be used for various background elements.
Fixed an issue where particles and liquids inside glasses were briefly visible when pulling the reset lever
Rewrote the Item Spawner to prevent stuttering during bar loadup
Oculus Reset View now recenters properly
Optimized texture resolutions to reduce wasted memory and space
Flares now fade in and out using a Material Property Block
Liquids in RTDs are now disabled when not in use
From here, we'll likely release one more update to fix the character controller, but aside from that, we'll be putting our full focus on the full game!
Also, I'm not sure if anyone here is interested, but the demo will be coming to Meta Quest 3 standalone this October.
