changedIn today’s devlog, we want to focus our attention on the characters that Princess will encounter during her journey. We hope you enjoy the devlog!Steam post image The main character, “Princess,” was based on one of my cats named “Zoe”, who shares the same friendly and calming nature. The face of the Persian cat is iconic and always looks sad. Steam post image The closest friends and family of Princess are frogs. We find frogs to be amusing and iconic as animals featured in many international stories and fables. They are a bit clumsy, but helping them will allow you to progress through the game. And they have a quiet smile! Steam post image These mechanical animals (along with many of the fully automated enemies) were the result of abandoned technology being left to survive or flourish on its own. Most of the mechanical enemies are animals from the Middle East, as it is an interesting mix between those and mechanical machines. Steam post image We have several other cute and cuddly creatures for Princess to interact with or rescue. Different animals will show up according to different biomes as chapters are progressed. We don’t want to spoil you with every animal that you can find, but for sure you can expect a nice variety! Steam post image There are many characters that Princess will meet along her journey, but this story is told through action rather than dialogue. Most importantly, players will be able to recognize the important ones. Steam post image When we started working on the characters' identities, we got influenced not only by other similar games such as Gris, Ori, and Hoa, but many animated classics. These include Watership Down, The Fox and The Hound, The Secret of NIMH, Fantasia, and many others. See you in the next Devlog!
