Press X to Not Die changes
After months of work, we are pleased to announce that we have converted Press X to Not Die from the XNA Framework to the FNA Framework. What does this mean for you? Glad you asked!
Improved compatibility: The XNA Framework was incompatible with certain hardware including some models of GeForce GTX graphics cards, rendering the game completely unplayable for a small percentage of users, frustrating them and us alike. Those users should now be able to play the game!
Faster video loading: The XNA Framework always froze the game momentarily whenever loading a video, making for a less than smooth experience when a lot of video switching was going on. FNA totally loads videos without freezing!
Native PS4 controller support: Plug and play, the way it should be, no third party software required! Note that the button prompts will still display Xbox button icons but, you know, Steam itself does that too... Will address in the future!
While we were at it, we also made a few tweaks.
Higher video quality: We had to re-render all the video to use with the FNA Framework which also gave us new render settings that we used to increase the video quality!
Improved crash handling to more easily give you the information you need to tell us that we need to help you! (That sentence made sense, right?)
You can now select options in pop-up menus with left and right on the keyboard!
A number of minor edits to videos to improve flow & correct some editing errors. We've tested it thoroughly but of course we can only try a tiny fraction of the thousands of possible configurations out there so please let us know any issues you may encounter!
