Pocket Racer Shop Sim changes
Build Your Collection Update
Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game Studio
Hey everyone,
This month's update is all about expanding one of my favorite parts of Pocket Racer Shop Sim... collecting, building, and managing your growing collection of racers.
Whether you're hunting for rare parts, assembling the perfect build, or organizing your shop, this update adds a lot of new tools to help make your collection feel more personal and rewarding.
Build Cars From Scratch
One feature I've wanted for a long time is finally here.
If you've accumulated a pile of spare parts from opening booster packs, you can now head over to the Workbench and build an entirely new car from scratch.
Already have a car that isn't performing the way you'd hoped?
You can now dismantle existing cars back into their individual parts, making it easier to experiment with new builds without starting over.
Every Racer Deserves a Name
Once you've built the perfect machine, it's time to make it yours.
Cars can now be given custom names, making it much easier to organize your favorite builds and show off your collection.
Whether you create serious race cars or come up with ridiculous names, that's entirely up to you.
Car Tier Ratings
As your collection grows, it becomes easier to lose track of which cars are built for casual races and which are absolute monsters.
To help with that, every completed car now receives a Tier Rating based on its overall performance.
This not only makes your garage easier to manage, but also opens up some fun new possibilities for racing.
Tier Restricted Races
Race hosts can now restrict races to specific car tiers.
Want an event where everyone's using beginner builds?
No problem.
Want to see who has built the strongest machine possible?
Go for it.
This helps create more balanced races while giving every build a chance to shine.
Track Records
Bragging rights are now permanent.
Tracks now keep record of the fastest completion time, giving everyone another reason to keep tweaking builds and chasing that perfect run.
Every improvement becomes another target to beat.
Better Shop Organization
This update also includes several quality of life improvements that make running your shop a little smoother.
Shelf Boxing
You can now box up a single level of a shelf instead of having to remove the entire unit or remove each product one by one.
This makes reorganizing your shop much quicker and far less frustrating.
Persistent Price Tags
Price tags now remain on shelves after products sell out.
This small change makes a surprisingly big difference when restocking, helping you remember exactly what belonged where and keeping your shop organized.
Staff Payroll Overview
Managing employees just became a little easier.
The StaffRoom now includes a new payroll page where you can quickly see exactly how much you're spending on employee salaries.
As more staff positions are added in future updates, this will become an increasingly useful management tool.
Looking Ahead
This update is another big step toward making Pocket Racer Shop Sim feel like a true hobby shop simulator, where building your collection is just as rewarding as racing it.
I'm continuing to polish existing systems while adding more depth to the progression loop, and I'm excited to share what comes next.
As always, thank you so much for following development and for all of the feedback you've shared throughout playtesting.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the discussion section, and if you haven't already, be sure to wishlist the game.
More updates soon.
