Pocket Racer Shop Sim changes
New Neighborhood Update And A Fresh Look for the Shop
Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game Studio
Hey everyone,
I’ve been hard at work on something that’s been bothering me for a while… the world outside your shop.
The old neighborhood served its purpose during prototyping, but it always felt like a placeholder. Functional, but not intentional. So I finally ripped it out and rebuilt the area from the ground up.
Welcome to the new neighborhood.
A Japanese-Inspired Setting
The shop now lives inside a more stylized, Japanese-inspired street environment that better matches the tone and direction of Pocket Racer Shop Sim.
The goal here wasn’t realism. It was personality.
More atmosphere
Stronger visual identity
A setting that feels like it belongs to this world
This change helps ground the game in a clearer creative direction instead of feeling like a greybox prototype.
Shop Design Overhaul
Alongside the exterior changes, the shop itself also received a design upgrade.
The biggest change is that the walls and floor are modular.
This lays the foundation for upcoming renovation features like:
Customizable paint colors
Different flooring options
Changing wall types
Right now, this update focuses on structure and cohesion. The customization layer will come later.

Building Toward the Demo
This update is part of the broader push toward a polished demo. Before expanding systems further, I want the world itself to feel like a place you actually want to spend time in.
There’s still more to come.
I’ve also been working on a separate Racing Update in the background. New effects, more impact, and some features I’m excited to show off soon.
Let’s just say… crashes are a little more dramatic now.
More on that next time.
As always, thank you for following along and supporting the project. Every update gets us closer to something that feels cohesive and complete.
Feel free to drop your thoughts in the discussion section, and if you haven’t yet, wishlisting the game really helps support development.
More soon.
