The Hard Update

I wasn't happy with a few features recently added to the game, namely the bosses and the ball limit. Both of these have been changed. This update also features the removal of score multiplier in its entirety.

changedThis update also features the removal of score multiplier in its entirety. It has been in the game since the beginning but I've only recently realized how bad of a mechanic it is. Multiplying score is already possible in various ways either through power, multi-hits, or just having more balls and score multiplier just threw a wrench into all of that, making balancing and item design harder. All items that used score multiplier have now been reworked, and in almost all cases replaced with flat score. Keep in mind this doesn't affect item that multiply score directly like Mouth, TSAR BOMBA or Glass Ball.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Pegs can no longer trigger "when clicked" abilities until obtained

  • Redid Jesterolls animations to hopefully make him less nausea-inducing

  • Adjusted score requirement so it scales faster in earlier levels

    • Boss buckets now change every 5 levels, more difficult bosses appear later on

    • No longer uses a fixed number, instead, there are now lines on the screen and if a ball crosses one you cannot get balls from the ball shelf

    • Accounts for Alternate Universes as well

    • Bubble

    • Potion (Cauldron)

    • Fan (Secret Ability)

    • Fire Ball

    • Flesh Ball

    • Sewage Ball (Sewer)

    • Mini Fur Ball (Fur Ball)

    • Gum Ball (Gumball Machine)

    • Obsidian Ball

    • Paint Ball

    • Uranium Ball

    • Knight Helmet

    • Egg (Secret Ability)

BALANCE CHANGES

  • Avocado

    • Moved to platinum

    • Increased price

  • Peg

    • Changed secret ability

  • Apple

    • Increased score percentage increase

  • Fur Ball

    • Decreased Mini Fur Ball spawn chance

  • Gumball Machine

    • Removed percentage, always spawns Gum Balls

  • Gum Ball

    • Gains score on drop

    • Reduced size

    • Changed secret ability

    • Increased score

  • Sewer

    • Spawns balls slower

  • Obsidian Ball

    • Moved to bronze

  • Piggybank

    • Can no longer activate its ability with negative power

    • Moved to gold

    • Moved to silver

    • Reduced score

    • Strength upgrade now gives power

  • Axe Ball

    • Now has a proper description with its abilities listed, affected by power

  • Acid Ball

    • Gains score on hit

  • Fire Ball

    • Gains score on hit

  • Uranium Ball

    • Gives score to nearby balls on hit

  • Awesome Ball

    • Replaced score multiplier mechanic with modulo 10 of current score

  • Bubble

    • Bubbled balls now gain score when hitting any peg

  • Potion

    • Gives score to all nearby balls

  • Flesh Ball

    • Increases the score of the ball it converts

  • Paint Ball

    • Red paint gives flat score on hit

  • Egg / Easter Egg

    • Changed secret ability

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed Money Bags appearing in Alternate Universes

  • Fixed Money Bags not being affected by power

  • Fixed Pocket Dimensions appearing with all pegs stacked in the center

  • Fixed unlocked Potions spawning potions outside of the board
