addedStory & Gameplay EvolutionIn the first video, the Co-Directors, Adam Stjärnljus and Klas Martin Eriksson, explore the expanded story and gameplay elements of Planet of Lana II. Here we discuss the new companion mechanics, abilities, and diverse environments - from snowy peaks and tropical islands to underwater worlds. Whether you’re returning to Novo or visiting for the first time, this episode shows how Planet of Lana II builds on everything fans loved, with a richer story, deeper gameplay, and unforgettable cinematic moments.
changedGame Design & PuzzlesWith Planet of Lana II, we knew we wanted to create more varied puzzles, and that brought a need to change certain aspects of how the game works. In this episode, Lead Game Designer Dan Faxe and Senior Game Designer Christian Enfors talk about how the team expanded the gameplay mechanics and puzzles for the sequel. This time, the puzzles are bigger and woven more naturally into the world, rewarding awareness, timing, and cooperation instead of complex logic. You will also see how Lana’s enhanced agility, including wall jumps and fluid movement, becomes essential to navigating each challenge.
addedArt, Animation and SoundIn our final video, we’re pulling back the curtain on the creative process behind the art, animation and sound of Planet of Lana II. Here, the Co-Directors Adam Stjärnljus and Klas Martin Eriksson share how the team has grown to support the vision of the sequel, and Art Director Jimmy Chan Petersson and Game Artist Anna Löfberg reveal how Novo's sweeping vista evolved from concept to the final render. You will also hear from the Animation Director, Otto Engström, and Senior Animator, Elinor Bergman, about how they brought the characters to life through improved fluid animations. Lastly, our Sound Designer, Marco Furlanetto, discusses the delicate art of inventing a brand new language for the people of Novo.
