These changes are designed to improve clarity, balance, and overall gameplay flow for both new and veteran captains.

  1. Crew Ability Rework

Crew abilities are being reworked and rebalanced to better define roles, reduce edge-case exploits, and improve combat readability.

  1. Armor & Lift Upgrade Improvements

Armor and lift upgrades can be upgraded in batches—expect clearer progression, faster upgrades, and more meaningful ship-building decisions.

  1. Ship Rendering & Performance Enhancements

We’re rolling out rendering optimisations and performance improvements to deliver smoother battles, faster load times, and improved visual consistency across devices. This will also set the foundation for ship skins coming in Q2.

🆕 New Features Coming Soon

These systems expand Pixel Starships 2 beyond its current boundaries and form the backbone of upcoming competitive and live gameplay.

  1. Ground Battles (Q1 or Q2)

A brand-new combat layer that takes the fight off your ship and onto the ground, introducing new tactics, units, and progression paths.

  1. Live Ship Updates & Online Ship Attacking

Ships will update in real time, enabling more dynamic online attacks and defenses—no more static snapshots of enemy ships.

  1. Annual Tournament System (Q1/Q2)

A large-scale competitive event designed to crown champions, introduce exclusive rewards, and establish long-term competitive prestige.

  1. Daily Rewards System

A new daily rewards feature to encourage consistent play and reward captains for returning to the galaxy each day.

🛠️ Plus: Minor Fixes & Polish

Alongside these major features, this update will also include a list of minor fixes, balance tweaks, and polish improvements, which we’ll detail closer to release in the full patch notes.

For this week we've fixed some server-based issues such as issues upgrading the Pirate to Level 8. and some tweaks to the room combos.

🌌 Looking Ahead

Q1 2026 marks an important step forward for Pixel Starships 2. These updates not only improve the day-to-day experience, but also prepare the game for larger live events, deeper combat systems, and a stronger competitive ecosystem. We also aim to push out Level 10 ships towards Q1/Q2.
