Pixel Gun 2 changes
The first days of the PG2 demo at Steam Next Fest have been huge. Thank you for jumping in, testing the chaos, and sharing your thoughts with us. We’ve seen your questions — and now we want to answer them, talk about the demo, and share what’s coming next for PG2.
Q: When is the game coming out?
A: We're planning to launch towards the end of Q3, with a soft launch a bit earlier. Stay tuned for updates!
Q: Will PG2 be available on MacOS?
A: We’re working on bringing PG2 to macOS in the future. There’s no Mac demo right now because Windows has a much larger player base, so we focused on the PC Steam demo first. We’ll share more news about macOS support when we’re ready.
Q: Will there be a mobile demo?
A: We're not planning a separate mobile demo for Pixel Gun 2, but we've already built and tested working mobile builds through our test project — Bloxel Arena. Players in select regions can try it out to get a feel for what PG2 will be like on mobile!
Q: Does progress carry over from the demo to the full game?
A: No, progress will reset when the full game launches. This is completely standard for multiplayer games, so no worries!
Q: Will there be more content in the game?
A: Absolutely! The full release will bring a lot more — new maps, weapons, characters, abilities, and even more ways to build and customize your playstyle. The demo is just a taste of what's coming, so stay tuned for the full experience!
Q: Will there be ways to play with friends?
A: Yes. Squads and private matches are planned for full release.
Q: Will there be controller support?
A: Yes, controller support is planned. PC controller support is planned for the full release, together with Steam Deck support. Mobile controller support is something we also want to bring as soon as possible — if not at launch, then in one of the next updates.
Q: What is Cubic ID in PG2 and what is it for?
A: Cubic ID is your single profile across Pixel Gun 3D and Pixel Gun 2. For the demo, its functionality is still limited, but this is the first step toward a more connected Pixel Gun experience. In the future, Cubic ID will bring mobile and PC together under one account. Your progress will sync across devices, your account will be safer from being lost, and it will be easier to stay connected with everything we build.
Most importantly, Cubic ID will help you bring your friends from Pixel Gun 3D straight into PG2 through Friends Hub.
Friends Hub is our social system where you can find and add players, see what your friends are up to, and jump into matches together. Think of Cubic ID as the foundation that connects the whole Pixel Gun Universe.
Q: Why Pixel Gun 2 doesn’t look like PG3D?
A: We hear you. PG3D is what Pixel Gun means to many players, and we understand why PG2 can feel different at first.
PG2 is not meant to replace PG3D or copy it one-to-one. It’s a new Pixel Gun experience built with the spirit of PG3D, a refreshed visual style, and updated gameplay systems.
PG3D isn’t going anywhere and will continue to be supported, so PG2 is our way to expand the Pixel Gun universe instead of making the same game again.
We care about longtime players and want PG2 to feel right for you. Try the demo, share honest feedback, and help us shape what comes next.
Q: Will PG3D continue to receive updates after PG2 launches?
A: Absolutely. PG3D isn’t going anywhere. Both games will grow side by side, with updates, new content, events, and support for both communities.
