Pirates Vikings & Knights II changes
This event will be held from June 27, 1:30 PM EST to June 28th, 10:00 PM EST
To access the Open Beta, you must open your game's Properties and enable the Open Beta tab here!
Major Changes
Added alt weapons! Updated a few specials, finished the Competitive Gamemode, updated various sounds, models, and animations.
Assassin has new lines performed by her new voice actor, Renara Hawke!
Alt Weapons:
Added 1 new weapon for each class! Choose your loadout in the Loadout Menu (B by default).
Dragon
A double barreled shotgun pistol that fires both barrels while ADSing!
Handmortar
Handheld explosive delivery system, stand back and let your bombs do the talking!
Navaja & Cloak
Style on your foes by parrying both melee and projectile attacks with your cloak before dicing them up!
Swivel Gun
A cannon ripped straight from the ship, light it and blast your foes into next week!
Giant Boulder
A huge rock for smashing skulls, throw it with Mouse1 while holding Mouse2!
Battle Axe
Become a one man army with this axe, fully charge your side swipes to keep swinging!
Short Spear & Shield
Trade range for staying power and aggression, stay in fights longer and end them!
Cateia
A Gallic throwing stick that pieces enemies, ricochets off walls, and comes back!
Arbalest
A powerful crossbow with insane knockback, cancel and continue your reload whenever you want!
Chu Ko Nu
A curious rapid fire contraption that’ll make your foes run straight to the grave!
Bastard Sword
A versatile blade great for any situation! Press Reload to swap between offensive and defensive grip!
Rapier
A simple and elegant weapon that trades backstabs for finesse and reliability!
Special Changes:
\ Skirmisher can now turn slightly mid special
\ Sharpshooter’s special now explodes with additional smaller bomblets
\ Berserker can no longer be parried during special
\ Bondi special arrows now knock enemies upwards, shoot them again to crit them and push them away
\ Heavy Knight special now sucks in enemies before launching them away
\ Heavy Knight special now forces player into third person by default (toggle in Multiplayer Settings)
\ Archer special ignites enemies hit with any of the arrows (rather than only if hit by all 4)
\ Assassin special visual effects updated
Balance:
\ Removed Long Rifle spread
\ Increased Longbow ammo (15/20→18/25)
\ Increased Flatbow ammo (14/28→20/32)
\ Increased Arming Sword/Shield charge time & damage mod (1.5→1.7 & 1.35→1.42 )
\ Falling melee damage mod made more consistent and forgiving
\ Rolling/Kicking repeatedly increases cooldowns more harshly
\ Artisan Flintlock loses accuracy briefly after Roll Reloading
Models/Animations:
\ Assassin model updated
\ Fancy Dagger remodeled
\ Long Rifle remodeled
\ Archer Sword reanimated
\ Added a rope to Buccaneer’s model
Competitive Gamemode:
\ Added a proper display for player roster
\ Added a musical track
\ Added audience SFX that reacts to gameplay
\ Spectators can now see each other
\ Spectators can see the nameplates of other players
\ Spectators can press +use to throw food between rounds (also works in Duel)
\ Extensive bug fixes
\ All related Convars renamed to start with ‘comp_’
Misc Changes:
\ Grogbot behavior improved
\ Various new sounds for gore/weapon draws/etc.
