PhaigeX: Confiners (Signs of Life update)
Hey, it's been a while! Long story short the game took a detour through development hell. 😂
After months of all-nighters, way too much coffee, and a game identity crisis or two, the next demo update is finally here. Do note that its still pretty janky, albeit playable. Feel free to give us some feedback. Thanks.
CONFINERS DEMO UPDATE:
Rogue-lite Sector Campaign :
This is the main reason things took so long. I really had to hunker down and figure out what I actually wanted out of Confiners. Long story short, we ended up going with an FTL -style campaign where you fly across a sector map and run into random events that can either seriously help your run or completely ruin it.
Squadron System:
You don’t have to go it alone out there. Aside from your core PHGX-Units, you can now recruit a limited squad of escorts to back you up.
Corvettes will trail your position closely to provide direct fire support.
Frigates stay tethered to your Support Craft to keep it locked down and protected.
New UI and smoother combat: (Trailer vid to better illustrate the feature ːsteammockingː)
We’ve completely overhauled the Combat UI! The old layout was a bit clunky, so we’ve streamlined it to give you a clearer view of the battlefield.
Alongside the visual refresh, combat balancing got a major tune-up. Enemy turrets will no longer instantly shred your ship with god-like accuracy. We’ve tuned the pacing so you can skillfully weave through enemy fire, putting the focus squarely on rewarding your piloting skills.
