added2021 is quickly coming to an end, and there aren't enough hours in a day to cover everything we've already begun working on and everything we're eager to start with. Although we keep discovering new challenges every day, the enthusiasm and the work drive are running strong. We're very proud of the development progress so far, and we are excited to let you in on a few newest changes to Pastel:
addedLooking back at the initial idea of creating a visually pleasing adventure puzzle experience, we've noticed a slight disbalance between the puzzle and the adventure aspect. So what did we do to add more 'venture' into the adventure? A whole new mechanic , of course! From now on, Pastel will be able to use Possession - an ability to possess a nearby creature and use its natural abilities to overcome obstacles . Ethically, of course. No creatures were harmed during the creation of this mechanic.
addedHow about the ability to interact with the obstacles in a much more elaborate manner? We got it covered! Some of the obstacles can now be destroyed and repaired to complete given tasks. Ruined bridge ruining your fun? Nothing a few wooden boards won't fix. Collect, repair, and progress!
changedAdditionally, we have tweaked the labyrinth area with a few redesigns that we plan on implementing within the game.
removedWe all love collectibles for the sake of collecting, but in the world of Pastel, everything has a role. For that reason, we have assigned a more active one to each collectible symbol in the game. To keep it charmingly challenging, e ach symbol now holds equal importance in solving narrative puzzles . Their completion will no longer be possible without all of the necessary pieces.
changedThe Ghost World has woken up! This previously passive area became richer for some interactive elements . You will now have the opportunity to explore it more while searching around for interactable parts of the environment and discovering their secrets.

2021 is quickly coming to an end, and there aren't enough hours in a day to cover everything we've already begun working on and everything we're eager to start with. Although we keep discovering new challenges every day, the enthusiasm and the work drive are running strong. We're very proud of the development progress so far, and we are excited to let you in on a few newest changes to Pastel:

  1. Looking back at the initial idea of creating a visually pleasing adventure puzzle experience, we've noticed a slight disbalance between the puzzle and the adventure aspect. So what did we do to add more 'venture' into the adventure? A whole new mechanic, of course! From now on, Pastel will be able to use Possession - an ability to possess a nearby creature and use its natural abilities to overcome obstacles. Ethically, of course. No creatures were harmed during the creation of this mechanic.

  2. How about the ability to interact with the obstacles in a much more elaborate manner? We got it covered! Some of the obstacles can now be destroyed and repaired to complete given tasks. Ruined bridge ruining your fun? Nothing a few wooden boards won't fix. Collect, repair, and progress!

  3. Additionally, we have tweaked the labyrinth area with a few redesigns that we plan on implementing within the game.

  4. We all love collectibles for the sake of collecting, but in the world of Pastel, everything has a role. For that reason, we have assigned a more active one to each collectible symbol in the game. To keep it charmingly challenging, e ach symbol now holds equal importance in solving narrative puzzles. Their completion will no longer be possible without all of the necessary pieces.

  5. The Ghost World has woken up! This previously passive area became richer for some interactive elements. You will now have the opportunity to explore it more while searching around for interactable parts of the environment and discovering their secrets.

  6. In the end, what's all of this worth if it isn't looking its best? For that, we are working on improving the adventure with a large-scale texture overhaul and showing some love to the third - no less important - part of Pastel: its visual experience.

A lot of the upcoming changes, and we are equally ecstatic to show you the progress we made on adding new levels... As soon as we get the new levels to cooperate with the game's environment. In the current stage, freshly added parts are clashing and require cleanup before the proper walkthrough. While we work hard on overcoming these obstacles, a friendly reminder that we appreciate your support!

Keep up with the updates, and feel free to reach out for any questions you may have.

Thank you!
