changedPastel is now more enthusiastic about her mission! We have added a bit of a skip to her step by improving the jumping mechanics and the interaction with objects (It will now rely on indirect connection rather than simple, rigid animations).
changedWe have even shown the shaders some love. They are now upgraded from presented assets to being handmade!
changedColor is love. Color is life. You will enjoy an improved color blend on grassy surfaces and ground textures.
changedOverhauled! Trees and grass are all goosed up, making the entire image richer with a lot more tone. Real eye-candy.
changedUpdates rock! No, really. We have updated our rocks. They are now much well behaved.
changedHigh five, but down low? Got a lower-graded software? It doesn't mean you should be getting a lower-graded Pastel: Blind Karma experience! We have optimized our textures to support your setup as well.

Ever since we first had an idea for Pastel: Blind Karma, we have imagined a colorful, vibrant, dynamic adventure. And while we are well on our way to bringing that vision to you, it's always a good thing to leave some room for backtracking and addressing some things that could have been done better.

And we did exactly that! So what exactly did we do? Check it out below:

  1. Pastel is now more enthusiastic about her mission! We have added a bit of a skip to her step by improving the jumping mechanics and the interaction with objects (It will now rely on indirect connection rather than simple, rigid animations).

  2. We have even shown the shaders some love. They are now upgraded from presented assets to being handmade!

  3. Color is love. Color is life. You will enjoy an improved color blend on grassy surfaces and ground textures.

  4. Overhauled! Trees and grass are all goosed up, making the entire image richer with a lot more tone. Real eye-candy.

  5. Updates rock! No, really. We have updated our rocks. They are now much well behaved.

  6. High five, but down low? Got a lower-graded software? It doesn't mean you should be getting a lower-graded Pastel: Blind Karma experience! We have optimized our textures to support your setup as well.

  7. Prefabs can be fabulous! Especially the reconstructed ones. Tune in for an increased optimization and frame rate!

  8. Cutting it close on the levels. Levels will now be more densely packed with a lot more puzzles to do! We need activities! What's all that empty space in between good for anyway?

  9. Literary enthusiasts, rejoice! More puzzles mean more diversity, and more diversity means adding text puzzles. In these types of puzzles, players will need to collect different words/symbols to beat the stage. Each encountered symbol will be registered in your dictionary to be used to decode the messages! Venturing through the levels, you will eventually run into obstacles that can be destroyed only by choosing the correct sentence out of the suggested ones while using the symbols registered to decipher them. Sure, you can play it by chance and guess the answer but be warned! Making a mistake will lead to a reshuffling of the task into a new one.

So much work to be done! Our development team is working hard to organize all of the prefabs and the content. And while there are some issues with the optimization, we are highly optimistic that we will keep it up on schedule! The biggest problem we are encountering is that the models are not cooperating and not functioning as we would want them to.

This means that assembling the first level correctly and offering you the best possible experience with all listed improvements will take more time and patience. Bits and pieces need to be put into place. Nothing is irrelevant.

We are also using this opportunity to thank you for the endless patience and support you constantly show for this project. Hopefully, we will be able to come back to you with more details regarding the entire process (and, of course, the finished product) soon!
