Back on te games update/roadmap !!

Hello everyone ! I'm back on working on the game, having many things to change and add, so I think I need to write those things on here: What I've been adding lately: -New Boost/Gear shifting mechanic !

What I've been adding lately:

-New Boost/Gear shifting mechanic !

When te phase is active, you can gear shift, allowing your vehicle to get a constant boost + if you change gear on a good timing, you get a bonus nitro boost for a small time !

-New Starting mechanic !

No countdown before starting your time trial, you have to heat up your engine, as you'll have to perfectly time your boost input to get a bonus boost for the start !

What is scheduled next ?

-Championships, Rivals, points system.

When you'll start, you'll be racing with a basic racing ship, gathering points depending the rivals you are beating, you'lll be able to unlock parts you can add to your ship, adding speed, agility, changing the behaviours of the phase system, etc...

-New Input System

That'll be a pretty long thing to do, as I've been working on this game for a while, I'll have to rewrite a big part of the code (implying stuff connected with the sound/music management), but it will be completely worth-it ! As I'll be able to create keybinding options.

-Visual Improvements

I'm personally not happy with how the game is looking so far, so I'll rework and improve all the existing tracks, I will also add one beginner track, as the Oval Ruins track is a bit too narrow for neophytes, I'll make a large, fast, simple track, where I'll add some jumps and fun things to play with !

New VFXs, from the boost VFX, to the different surfaces you'll race on, getting water projection on camera, dirt spraying all around you, etc..

-Gameplay improvement

On top of the gear shifting mechanics, I'lll add pretty classic boostpads, but also antigrav surfaces, I will keep them pretty rare in the level designs, as I want to keep a "natural" feeling for the races, but it is always fun to race on walls and do loopings, right ? (the script already exists, it just needs tweaking for the cameras angles and racing ships behaviours)

Also, I'll add ghosts for the different times you'll have to beat in the solo game modes !

-What's for even after that ???

Well, after that, I'll be working on online leaderboards ! it should be the last big thing to add before polishing and playtesting te game with the goal on releasing the game this year !

I wish I could add AI to race against, but it will be a lot of work for me alone to put everything together realistically, but if the occasion is possible, I'd love to do some tests !
