addedHi Owls! It's been a minute and we miss you all dearly . We have been hard at work on a few things this time, but we'll highlight a few in this post. Be sure to check out the "What's New" section on the main menu for a full list!
addedTwo words: Gachapon MachineYep, you read it, and we meant it. We added a Gachapon Machine in levels to interact with. There is a 50% chance it will show up at certain spots in each level , so scout around and find 'em! When you do find one, you can trade a Charm or an Ability for a random new one! Feel like you made bad choices picking up a Charm? Get rid of it for a new one! Want a different ability to check out a different build? SACRIFICE IT TO THE GACHAPON.
changedBoring optimization stuffIt might be boring, but it matters. We took a pass at a metric boat load of references in the game and optimized them to keep them out of your memory as much as possible. This should help improve how much memory is utilized while running the game as well as how much memory is taken up in your install. We will be continuing to optimize in this fashion for the rest of the project, but hopefully this will be a great first step!
addedOptions Saving fixed... Sort ofYeah, kind of a win and a loss here. Our save system has been updated, which makes all of your options save more consistently.. except the audio ones . They will save, but usually not until you enter that menu in Options. So... yay? We'll keep working on it, but while you are in there, check out the new options we have! You can now change multiple display related settings and controls, so go to town, er, Options !

ehem.

Enjoy the jaunty tune and let us know what you think about this mechanic!

Better combat!

We have simplified out attack behavior and made it more responsive. You should feel like you need to fiddle around to find just the right spot anymore before launching a surprise attack of death. Click away and consume lots of prey!!

The beginning of something huge

We are in the process of reworking the Ability system to include an Active and a Passive. This will substantially change how abilities are used and really prop up the "build" part of the roguelike portion of our game. Currently, Berserk and Defensive Shield have passives that are coded in the game, but you can see what the passives for the rest of the abilities are going to be in each of the ability descriptions. Check out what's to come and what's there now! Give us your feedback on this system so we know if we are headed in the right direction, or if you have any ideas for a neat combo!

That's all for now

Please enjoy the DEMO and tell your friends! Make sure you Wishlist the full game. This will help us immensely! Also, if you haven't yet, join our Discord!

Until next time!
