The wait is over, Beta 1.0 is now out after over a year of development, check out the trailer here:
About The Update
For those who haven't followed the update's development, Beta 1.0, nicknamed the "Refresh Update", is a complete rework of the game from the ground up, meant to improve every core system of Park Studio and add tons of new content to make the game fuller and worth your time.
This update comes with drastically improved graphics, vastly better performance as well as new features on top of improved existing features. As for the added content, the game now comes with the foundation of 6 themes, as well as a few new coaster models, including ones never seen in any game of the genre.
Important Note: The currently available objects largely cover exterior decorations and theming, interior and more unique and functional pieces will be coming alongside visitors in the next update: Beta 1.1
Some of the major feature highlights of this update are:
A brand new Force Vector Design mode in the coaster editor.
New spline tools, to draw paths, fences, and more with ease.
Fluid simulation on lakes and rivers.
Coasters are now SMOOTH!
Check out the full changelog below for more. Some notable features were postponed and will be coming in the next days or weeks, these include:
Prefabs and the Steam Workshop integration.
CSV/TSV Importer for coasters and elements.
Screens and signs.
Audio and music.
Dynamic time and dynamic weather effects (manual time and weather effects still available).
A few models are yet to be added on coasters such as tire wheels and animated brakes.
A word from the developer
I am extremely happy to bring this update to you all, I'm sorry for those who believed I had abandoned the game, it was never my intention. This update is the result of your suggestions and criticisms, that I've taken extremely seriously to try and provide the game that I've promised. I've tried to design everything to be as little limiting as possible, to let your creativity run wild at scales you never dared to imagine before.
Beta 1.0 is the first step in a series of major updates that will make Park Studio THE next-generation of theme park building and simulation games, stay tuned as I'll soon be sharing more info on Beta 1.1 and the future of the game.
Now I have to be honest, this release may be a little rough on the edges, while I tried to make every system robust and limitless, I can't realistically have prevented all bugs and quirks the systems may have, but I will always be online on the Discord and on Steam discussions to help with bug reports and support, and there will be more content added throughout the month!
Now, it's time to get creative!
