Page Turner changes
Welcome to the first look at Page Turner!
Page Turner is my love letter to the classic side-scrolling arcade platformers I grew up with. I’ve always adored this genre, and I wanted to create a game that captures the magic that made me fall in love with it in the first place—from the challenging, fast-paced action of Konami titles like Sunset Riders and Contra, to the expressive, detailed animations of the Metal Slug series.
Today’s games offer so much: procedurally generated levels, skill trees, branching narratives, deep upgrade systems, crafting menus—the medium has grown far beyond what I imagined as a kid. And while all of that is amazing... sometimes, I just want to go right and shoot bad guys.
Every level in Page Turner is handcrafted—from the animations and pixel art to every single piece of set dressing in the environment.
And all you have to do is go right and shoot bad guys.
The game is still in development, and this demo includes three completed stages as both a sneak peek at what’s to come and an opportunity for you, the player, to help shape the final experience. Your thoughts, feedback, and impressions mean the world to me—please consider leaving a review or reaching out to PoppKeys Games. I read every message personally and take your input seriously.
I can’t wait to hear what you think of the game so far—and to see how it evolves over the next year of development.
Thank you so much for playing. I hope you enjoy Level Two of Page Turner. – Hayden Popp Developer, PoppKeys Games
