Cause: The issue was not in the game’s code, but a known video memory bug in the older version of the Ren'Py engine (version 7) used to build previous releases.

Solution: The game has been fully upgraded to Ren'Py 8.5, which uses a modern video pipeline that properly releases video memory. The same dual‑screen and movie‑stop logic now works without leaks.

Compatibility: Existing save files are compatible and will continue to work.
