Release 1.7 is now live — the most ambitious update to Outer Space Shack in more than a year.
Mars exploration reaches a new milestone with the introduction of a complete industrial chain capable of producing oxygen and steel directly from Martian resources.
Industrial production on Mars
Water ice can now be extracted from the Martian soil and processed using the new membrane electrolysis unit, which splits water into oxygen and hydrogen.
To store these gases efficiently, the update introduces a three-stage compressor allowing hydrogen and oxygen to be stored in high-pressure tanks.
Hydrogen can then be used in the new small-scale hydrogen furnace, reducing iron oxides from Martian regolith to produce crude steel. This locally produced steel can be used to manufacture additional space modules and expand your Martian base.
The Akashgami light rocket
Mars missions also gain access to the Akashgami light rocket, designed for small resupply missions when a heavy interplanetary rocket would be excessive. Perfect when all you need is a box of spare parts.
Quality of life improvements
Release 1.7 also includes several improvements and fixes:
Autosave system
Improved building descriptions
Clearer appliance progress indicators
Performance improvements
Stability fixes
New languages available
Outer Space Shack now supports five additional interface languages:
German
Spanish
Portuguese
Polish
Simplified Chinese
More players can now manage their space bases in their native language.
