changedWhat’s Next? This is not the end of Ostranauts development. There are many things we weren't able to do in the time we had, ranging from mere fixes and UI improvements, up to unused assets and feature ideas. And we’ve been hearing your concerns about being burned by other Early Access games in the past. This is why we are making it clear now that we are committed to AT LEAST another year of additional development post-1.0. We’d love to be able to go beyond that, too, if the game sells well enough. But no matter what, we’re still here doing our thing for at least a year. Stay tuned for more details about what that includes in future updates and community events!
addedBeginners GuideWe’ve collaborated with Caves of Qud narrative designer and Ostranauts superfan, Caelyn Sandel to create a getting started guide aimed at new spacers. She will take you through the in-game tutorial and beyond for the best tips for surviving and discovering all the fun in space. If you have any friends that are curious about Ostranauts, send them this!
changedReddit AMAHave any questions for the team? We’re hosting an AMA on r/Games Tuesday, August 4th at 11am PT/ 2pm ET. Ask us anything about Ostranauts, game development in general…space questions?! We’ll see you there! Thank you And one more thing before diving into patch notes. Having you all as part of the Early Access community has been a tremendous help in making the game what it is today. Some eleven years ago, Ostranauts was just an idea with a (probably too ambitious) design doc. We knew some of the things we wanted it to be, but there were many questions yet to be answered. By the time the game launched into Early Access in 2020, that picture was getting clearer. And with the help of your testing, feature voting, suggestions, and bug reporting (and in some cases, mods of yours we ended up purchasing!), Ostranauts has become a magnificent beast of a game. Frankly, there is nothing out there quite like it. And none of this would be possible without you. So, thank you! And we look forward to more building (and playing!) Ostranauts with you.
