The Painite Enchanted Sword is the first melee weapon the player will acquire and serves as a foundational weapon throughout the early stages of the game. Forged from a rare Painite-infused alloy and enchanted with a magical force multiplier, the blade balances accessibility with surprising effectiveness. While not the most powerful weapon that can be found, its reliability and versatility make it an essential companion for new bounty hunters. In this game, you can only use weapons you find in each Orc base or camp – you cannot bring weapons with you.
Designed for swift, broad strikes, the Painite Sword excels against weaker enemies such as lesser demons, wild animals, and low-rank Orcs. When used with proper timing and positioning, it can dispatch these foes efficiently, rewarding skilful play rather than brute force. Its enchantment slightly amplifies damage against corrupted creatures, hinting at the deeper magical weapons players will encounter later in the game.
As the player’s first sword, it introduces core melee combat mechanics, including stamina management, attack combos, and enemy weaknesses. While there are other enhanced swords available, the Painite remains a dependable option and is normally easy to find.
Melee weapons such as these swords are important for close quarters combat. You may not have time to reload a gun, so a sword can be more effective where there are many enemies close by.
