Onslaught: Armoured Assault changes
Hi all, this is the start and hopefully something I will do every Saturday. These posts will be simple updates to what I’m working on, as well as feedback for anything that I am working on. The first thing on my to-do list, for update 1.3 is to redesign the main menu. This is a major overall for the game, as the main menu felt very neglected and at times hard to navigate, so my plan is to make the main menu, flows better, be more straight forward and overall look better. currently, the menu is 90% done, with still a few things to do, mostly with functionality. what we are doing is changing mostly the color scheme around, as well as making the UI a little more fitting to the style of our game.
This is what mean; we are moving away from the straight orange and grey and moving the more a black and white SCI-FI UI. Here are a few screenshots of the new menu. Currently all Work in progress.

The new Color Picker, this is a complete overhaul of the old color picker.
This is the new Layout for choosing your game mode, but the survival scene is still a work in progress as well but is mostly there. This is most of the work that has been going on over the Easter break, feedback is very much appreciated on all menu items, as we want to get everything correct and perfect. The second thing that we have been working on is a rework of the in-game UI, we noticed a lot of inconsistency as well as a lot of problems with the current system, so we are reworking most of it so that it is more convenient and straight forward. What we mean by that is that there is not a lot of convenient information displayed on the screen, for players. so, the first step that we are taking is making sure the player knows exactly what's happening with their resources. This is a screenshot of the new menu items being added, these items display for each resource the amount you will gain per income cycle.
we plan to further improve the feedback of the UI, down the line with more feedback. The last thing that we have been working on is a rework of the fighter system, at the moment the fighters have been created to be as efficient as possible, but thanks to new methods and systems that were implemented we are able to explore a little more detail into the fighters, what we mean by this is the current fighter models have at max have about 30 faces, where the new models are a lot more detailed. Here are a few screenshots of the models that we have been working on. these are not new additions to the game, but a rework of the fighter, bomber and Interceptor models.
