Hello everyone,
Happy holidays and a happy 2025! It's been an eventful 2024 for One Fenix Down, from launching our Steam page and demo to funding a successful Kickstarter! As always I wanted to share the latest developments with our game along with the assets in development. So without further ado...
Progress Report
As any aspiring game developer would admit, the hardest part about making a game is arguably the discipline of sitting down and doing the work day after day after day. Especially when life throws you some serious curveballs. Such is the case with me which has unfortunately slowed down production these past few months. However, I have been able to finish many semi-optional areas leading up to the final dungeon despite the setbacks.
Overall I'd estimate the main story to be at 90% completion. This isn't a huge step-up from the 85% estimate I had during the Kickstarter, but rest assured progress is being made. As such I still believe a Q4 2025 launch date is doable. The main variable will be the time needed to polish and quality check the final game -- I'd rather push back the launch than release something rushed out the door.
Asset Development
Last time we highlighted the original soundtrack from achieving our Kickstarter goal. This time I want to share some of the characters and battlers in development -- from dastardly bosses to important side characters!
...and Fun Minigames!
Lastly, what JRPG wouldn't be complete without the obscure minigame? At some point in the game the player may find themself diving through a trench and fending off piranha sharks with... dolphin torpedoes??
