Once Upon a Rogue’s Tale Patch Notes – V 0.3.0 (23.05.2024)
Dear Fairytale fans, a big demo update is waiting for you! The Replayability Update is now live and, as the name suggests, comes with many new features and upgrades that will make your runs even more individual and offer new unlockable content.
New
A brand new shop in between runs
Our goat Jeff found life as a simple goat that only eats cards too boring and decided to open his own store! This store features new unlockable passive abilities for your main character, new unlockable events and special one-time run upgrades for your next run. Later this will be the place where you also unlock new main characters and their adventures. Notice: The shop will appear for the first time after your first run.
A new resource: Wishes
After each battle, in addition to the typical battle rewards, a new bar will be filled up. When it is full, you will receive a wish that you can exchange in Jeff's new Wish Shop!
New enemies: Little Witch and Little High-born Sir
(Little Witch will also be available as a buyable companion in the chapter 2 shop)
New event requirements
You will now come across events where certain selection options are linked to requirements. These can be: Coins, health, team size, specific hand cards, specific characters in the team or previous events.
New event punishments
Some of your decisions in events can now lead to you getting Misery Card, losing a certain card or transforming your main character into an animal.
New type of handcards
We added so-called Misery Cards to the game. These cards are supposed to be unpleasant and block your deck. You can banish some of them, but this comes at a price…
New Map Point: Character Event
A new icon now allows you to see immediately which event gives you the chance to get an additional character.
Added a new panel to the Help-Section
Changes We have removed one of the 3 character abilities because you will be able to unlock them later in the Early Access version. This will further increase strategic planning and make runs more unique.

Changed enemy behavior so abilities aren’t repeated so often
Changed cursor size
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where you could break the game through pressing enter repeatedly
Fixed a save game bug
Fixed a bug where an enemy could still attack you after being defeated
Fixed inventory button showing up when receiving a punishment during events
Fixed a bug that could occur very rarely where a die rolls indefinitely
Fixed a bug where dice and money didn’t reset after starting a new run
Lots of visual bug fixes
