On Tape << Rewind changes
Exciting news!!!
Hello everyone,
We have some exciting news to share.
Pixfork Games has been awarded development funding from the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) to deliver a playable demo for On Tape << Rewind.
For our small independent team, this is a huge milestone and an important vote of confidence in the project. The funding will allow us to further develop the game's core mechanics, atmosphere, audio systems, and narrative experience as we continue working toward our vision for the game.
For those who are new here, On Tape << Rewind is a psychological horror mystery set in an isolated cabin on Svalbard. Through cassette recordings, frequency analysis, and oscilloscope-based investigation, players will uncover the truth behind physicist Fred Karlsen's disappearance and the mysterious Project Echo.
One of our primary goals is to create an authentic analog experience. From cassette players and magnetic tape recordings to oscilloscope visualizations and hidden audio messages, sound is not only a storytelling tool but also a core gameplay mechanic.
Receiving support from NFI allows us to push these ideas even further and build a demo that properly showcases what makes On Tape << Rewind unique.
We would like to thank the Norwegian Film Institute for their trust in the project, and all of you for following our journey so far.
More updates are coming soon.
Stay tuned, and remember:
Something is waiting in the static.
