On Tape << Rewind changes
We have some good news to share 🙂
From early on, we’ve been developing On Tape << Rewind with Steam Deck support firmly in mind.
We’re happy to say that the game already runs smoothly on Steam Deck and is fully playable using the built-in controls or compatible controllers — no mouse or keyboard needed. That includes all the core stuff: exploring the cabin, handling cassette tapes, fiddling with audio equipment, and digging through clues.
A lot of the game is about slow, deliberate interaction, and that actually translates really well to a handheld. Our goal is that playing on Steam Deck should feel just as natural and immersive as playing on desktop — not like a compromised version.
That said, we’re not done yet. We’ll keep testing, tweaking, and polishing the experience as development continues, and we’ll share updates if anything changes. But if Steam Deck is your preferred way to play, we’ve definitely got you covered.
Thanks for following the project — and as always, feel free to ask if you’re curious about anything specific.
