changedThis demo is exciting for us because it’s the first time we’re sharing what we’ve been working on with a wider audience! We’re hoping the demo gives you a glance at the spirit of the game, and also answers questions about how it plays, how it sounds, and how all its elements come together to form the whole experience.
changedIn case you didn’t know, on the development side of the game, we’re a passionate team of three. Essentially, we’re one programmer/level designer, one artist, and one sound designer/musician. Our goal with the game is to create an experience that’s super fun, memorable, heartfelt, and also satisfies fans of the 2D action genre, which includes ourselves. We want to take players on a twisting journey through the lands of Kutala, where they’ll be treated to jaw-dropping environments, epic boss battles, a deep story, sweeping musical score, and challenges aplenty.
changedAfter playing the demo, feel free to give us feedback on where the game is at, and if you want, let us know if you find any bugs. We spent a lot of time polishing up the game for the demo, but there are still some rough edges here and there. For example, we totally acknowledge that sometimes the dialogue text gets too small. We’ll fix that in the full game’s release. You might also find some small collision bugs or other random stuff. We’ll iron that out too. Last but certainly not least, is the sound. The music tracks in the demo are 100% original and final, aside from small touches that could get tweaked down the line. However, the sound effects are only about 35% original and final. Meaning, the sound will only get better and better as we continue development, and continue to replace the debug/placeholder sounds.
