Dev Log #4 - The 'Magi-Tab'

Hi everyone! Welcome to the 4th dev log for Oi, Innkeep! Today I'm going to show off the 'Magi-Tab', a magical device that handles all our UI, social mail system and other stuff. Read on!

The Magi-Tab is more than just a pause/settings menu. It's a magical tablet that helps you keep track of customers and manage your inn. Pressing TAB on the keyboard will take you to it's home screen, pictured below: NOTE: All the images below are not final. We're still going to add stuff and pretty it up some more!

It should be familiar if you use any sort of modern smartphone. From the home menu, you can access different apps. There's more to come, but at the moment we have the following:

Matester

This is one of the cooler apps. It lets you send and recieve msgs from different NPCs. You can also view their profiles and other information. It's used in storylines and other stuff.

Calender

Helps you keep track of NPC birthdays, days to pay rent and other important dates you probably shouldn't forget about.

Menu

Here's where you set your different menus that NPCs can order from.

Recipe Book

This lists all your discovered recipes and details their required ingredients and processes to cook them.

Magi-Shop

Here you can buy different items and ingredients if you don't have the time or don't want to grow them yourself. You place an order and after a set amount of time it'll get delivered.

Settings

Everything you'd expect from a settings menu, such as graphic, audio, control and gameplay options.

Other Stuff

We do have some other stuff planned and half-made. Here's a list of possible apps we might add as well. None of these are for certain though. Inn Rating - Let's you know what people think of your inn and assigns you a raiting. Staff Members - We did have a rough system where you can hire different staff memebers at one point. If that makes it back in, we'll have an app for you to hire and manage staff working hours. Rooms for Rent - You'll be able to assign rentable rooms through the Magi-Tab. Notifications - Keeps you up to date with things you need to know in your inn. Licences - Let's you buy different licenses such as Liquor licenses. And more! We're getting closer and closer to something that we will be happy to have you guys play. We're doing a ton of different animations. Most characters are going to have different animations that are unique to them in different situations. We're also doing a bit of polish to current systems + adding in some new ones that will make Oi, Innkeep! feel a whole lot more immersive. We're pretty excited about those and I'll probably detail those out in a future dev log. Thanks for reading!
