addedI’m very excited to share new content, that I have been working on since the previous update.
addedThis boss shares visuals with the existing one, but it has a gold finish in comparison to the stainless steel of the first boss. When I was working on a new boss, I came up with an idea to redo the existing horizontal torpedo launcher for both bosses. It’s a minor visual change, but I think it fits better than the previous version of the weapon.
addedNext, I’ve started to work on the actual patterns of the boss. Some of them were already good and required small adjustments, like changing weapon delays or movement speed. As a whole Sand World location, this boss is all about explosive weapons. So, it uses bullets, torpedoes, and new types of weapons – mines.
changedThe biggest change was done to the enrage phase. Briefly, each boss has two phases – normal and enrage. Enrage phase is triggered, when health of the boss drops below 30-40%. Usually, this phase is more intense and has slightly different weapons from the normal phase.
addedFor this new boss, I have to design a new set of weapons based on the regular phase. I tried to include all types of weapons, but still to make it more dynamic. Overall, I’m quite happy with the result and after checking with Ksenia (our artist), I’m looking forward to do playtesting this boss.

I’m very excited to share new content, that I have been working on since the previous update.

As we approaching the release date, I started to work on finalizing the Sand World location. One of the missing pieces was to have polished bosses for all levels in this world.

Obviously, I started with boss for the second level. We already had a prototype version of this boss to outline the main ideas. And as for each prototype, it requires several iterations of improving and finalizing many things.

This boss shares visuals with the existing one, but it has a gold finish in comparison to the stainless steel of the first boss.
