changedToday I want to talk in details about some core improvements in the game. But first, let me ask you a simple question. What’s the most important thing in the shoot’em up? Fun to use weapons of course and we have problem with that! There are some weapons that we have been concerned before, but it became more obvious during online showcases.
addedThe first weapon with change is Shotgun. Initially it was designed to be a manual weapon, which wasn’t the best idea in the end. What you get is the weapon, that nobody wants to use, because you have to constantly smash the fire button. We have been thinking to adjust it by adding automatic mode with smaller fire rate. But making it fully automatic has more sense and that’s what we did now.
changedNext, we have made several adjustments to homing missiles. There are multiple problems with this weapon and I will name few of them: * First of all, slow fire rate * Another point is the slow missiles * And sometimes rocket doesn’t reach target which is a big issue for such weapon
changedAll these makes Missiles Launcher not a fun weapon to play with. I have tried to resolve majority of issues and revamped the weapon completely.
addedNew Missiles Launcher features faster fire rate and rockets flight speed. To balance this, damage was decreased for individual missile. Also, I updated homing system and missile tries to reach target instead of orbiting around it. And more parameters were randomized to improve whole look’n’feel of the weapon.

It took a while since previous update. But this was a matter of focusing on development and addressing some feedback from Steam Games Festival and Indie Arena Booth.

Today I want to talk in details about some core improvements in the game. But first, let me ask you a simple question. What’s the most important thing in the shoot’em up? Fun to use weapons of course and we have problem with that! There are some weapons that we have been concerned before, but it became more obvious during online showcases.

These are two major changes which we would like to playtest soon. But due to pandemic it’s not possible to do play testing offline as we did it before. And we got lucky to receive access to Steam Playtest tool. Right now, I’m preparing first build for that, which should be ready by this weekend.
