Update v0.3.7
It’s been one week since the Early Access release and it's been awesome following the game grow in popularity. I'm incredibly proud and grateful that over 23,000 Oaklings have picked up the game already and spent countless hours feeding back on the game. The intention of the Early Access is to help expand and refine Oaken Tower with you all, so thank you for all of your support!
As a solo developer it's been awesome seeing my game get covered by some of the major creators for the autobattler genre including Celerity, Kripp, Northernlion, HandOfBlood, Sodapoppin and many more!
Over the weekend you'll see that I pushed out a smaller update which aimed to address a handful of early learnings and feedback from you all, and going forward you can expect to see more updates.
Today in celebration of the week one success, I'm updating the game with some brand new content!
New Encounter: Shady Dealer
This encounter always appears on day 18 (only in Endless mode after a Ranked run!). He will offer you to sacrifice 15 rating points, and if you make it to day 23 you will gain +30.
This adds a competitive reason to play endless mode.
Please note that endless mode balancing is still being tweaked a lot and matchmaking is being improved actively. I already made great improvements to the endless matchmaking in this update :)
2 New Items:
When the Dragon pack releases, Dragon Orb and Dragon's Call will rotate out of the neutral pool.
To fill in these 2 slots, a new Epic and Legendary item has been added as part of today's update:
Turnbound Ring (Cross-promotion item!)
My developer friends over at 1TK release their auto battler (Turnbound) into 1.0 tomorrow and to celebrate together we're doing a cross-promotion item between Oaken Tower and Turnbound. 1TK has added in 'The Oaken Tower' as a slottable item into Turnbound, and I've added the 'Turnbound Ring' to Oaken Tower!
The Turnbound Ring gains damage every day, and introduces the unique "All" tag, which means it counts as any type!
Pandora's Box
If you manage to trigger its 20s CD, you will be rewarded with Pandora's Slot. This slot copies an item each day, and if your Pandora's Box is levelled up, you can even upgrade the Pandora's Slot to generate multiple items!
New Steam Achievement (thanks Soda!)
Deal 100.000.000 damage to The Oak.

Balance
🟢 Flare: 0 Burn → 1 Burn.
🟢 Hunter's Tome: 30 gold → 25 gold
🟢 Moon Knife: This change is just a streamline for Moon Knife to give XP that are multiples of 4 (otherwise you would gain uneven XP which resulted in bugs….) → +16/+24/+32
🔄 Lyra’s Deep Freeze now adds copies of the deep-frozen item to its corresponding rarity pool (instead of a random one). I.e. if you Deep-Freeze a Rare item, 2 extra copies will be added to the Rare item pool. Note: You can Deep-freeze Special items like the Jade or Home-Brew, in which case 2 copies will get added to the Epic pool.
→ Lyra’s Deep Freeze has been streamlined: You now gain a seperate Deep Freeze button in shop and it clearly displays what it does when hovered.
Other:
Added a button to the Oaken Tower Wiki in the main menu.
Fixed a bug where Refined Bow and How to Grow could appear when Elven pack was disabled.
Fix: You can no longer press the freeze button behind the pouch.
More matchmaking improvements!
Fixed a bug where Executioner wouldn't execute if the enemy healed in the same frame.
Temporarily disabled the "Shop contains 1-Star items" lucky roll due to bugs. Will re-add soon.
