Nuclear Nightmare changes
THE REMASTER UPDATE
Features:
Remade/Remastered New Player Models (This adds brand new remade player models into the game while also allowing the player to customize every aspect of their outfits color combinations) EDIT: When launching the game if you previously had old skins purchased it will refund the points back to your account
True First Person Experience (Removes exaggerated head bob movement & looking through walls with a weapon in hand. First person arms are now attached to the player’s camera making the overall experience feel more polished)
Massive AI Improvements (AI now is able to navigate the environment without getting stuck on miscellaneous objects making for a more intense experience, as well as being able to jump off ledges if the navigation path permits)
Forest Map Bridges
Revamped Tutorial (Now explains the general gameplay loop including turning on a generator, unlocking doors, using the evacuation computer, and turning on the satellite)
Minimum classified prompt (Once the minimum number of classified has been collected in a map, a message will appear telling players they can call evacuation early if they wish)
Sniper scope remastered (No longer changes in brightness, it is the same as the player’s vision, as well as a lens effect while scoped in)
Dynamic weather on Low Island (Changes the brightness/fog of the scene depending on whether it’s a blizzard or light snow)
Medium & low graphics significantly improved without decreasing performance, allowing for low-end users to have a similar experience to those on high-end hardware
New Russian translations
Remastered landscape & Lighting on all maps (Includes new terrain textures, realistic mountains, better shadows/environmental lighting for all maps, new buildings replacing previous ones that were not able to be entered)
Improvements & Fixes
Trip mines can now blow up from bullets or fire!
More realistic ragdolls
Improved networking performance
Glacier collision now more accurate
Fixed soft lock locations/Added a staircase at the ufo pit, allowing for a way to escape!
Levers disappearing after turning them on fixed
Fire fidelity improved
Examine tasks now allow cancel action and looking around
Auto select text when opening text chat
Monster footstep sounds lowered
Audio mixing improved including snow footsteps!
Duplicate end game lose screens for client fixed
End game screen soft lock bug fixed, occurs when two people die at the same time
New gas pump fill up sound
2 new ambient tracks for Low Island
1 new attack track for Low Island + removal of old repetitive attack soundtracks
Monsters now are slightly covered with snow from the environment
Youtube button added to Main Menu
Gas canister can blow up from fire
Doing generator while moving glitch fixed
Generator animation lined up better
Global voice chat volume moved to its own independent value
Performance optimizations (Reduced triangles counts significantly across all maps & stutters)
Ai can jump off ledges
Adjusted Trip mines locations to more reachable locations
We’ve called this “The Remaster Update” because it significantly upgrades the game’s polish, visuals, and first-person experience.
That said, it’s not a complete ground-up remaster—there’s still plenty more we’re working on to keep improving Nuclear Nightmare.
