addedNuclear Cheetah is one year old as of March 7th, and what better way to commemorate this occasion than with a brand-new update? Thanks to numerous bug fixes, mechanical improvements, and quality-of-life features, the game is more polished than ever before. Check out the patch notes below to see what's new.
addedNEW FEATURES
addedSTEAM ACHIEVEMENTS! You can now earn achievements in Nuclear Cheetah on Steam. There are 16 in total, so whether you view them as a progress tracker or just a fun bonus, take the challenge and collect them all! What's the reward? Bragging rights, of course.
changedPERFORMANCE MODE! This disables the fancy particles and screen effects in certain levels, which may improve performance on weaker devices. Mileage will vary, and the game won't look as pretty, but give it a try if you're experiencing severe frame drops or slowdown.
addedREVAMPED SETTINGS MENU! To compliment these new options, the settings screen has also gotten an upgrade. You can now press Tab to cycle between the Video, Audio, and Game sections. The old arrow key method still works, but using the Tab key is highly recommended since it's closer to WASD.

CONTROLLER REMAPPING! One of the most requested features since launch is finally here! Much refactoring had to be done to achieve this, since the game was not originally built with this feature in mind, but it was absolutely worth it.

PERFORMANCE MODE! This disables the fancy particles and screen effects in certain levels, which may improve performance on weaker devices. Mileage will vary, and the game won't look as pretty, but give it a try if you're experiencing severe frame drops or slowdown.

  • Fixed an issue where fireballs sometimes wouldn't melt ice blocks

  • Fixed incorrect floor title cards in Act Gecko's hub

  • Fixed some glitchy areas in Vaporous Vat

  • Fixed some inconsistencies with powerups in various levels
