Nitrania changes
Welcome back to the starting line! Development on Nitrania has been moving steadily. For anyone hungry for that pure arcade racing experience, the core gameplay is getting fine-tuned to deliver an even greater sense of speed alongside vibrant, detailed environments.
Smoother Flow and New Environments
The track design approach has been updated to prioritize a smoother driving rhythm. Artificial blind crests have been reduced, allowing the tracks to naturally sweep through valleys and carve along the slopes of high hills. This preserves the high-speed rollercoaster feel while giving you a much better view of the sun-drenched roads ahead.
Here is a look at the rollercoaster-like drive through the tropical hills, the golden autumn mountain sprint, and the high-speed beach run in action:
Community Feedback Implemented
Feedback from the latest gameplay previews has been incredibly helpful in shaping the game. To ensure you get the best possible view of the track, several elements have been adjusted.
The chase camera now sits slightly higher for better forward visibility, while the minimap and tachometer have been scaled down to reduce screen clutter.
Night racing has also seen welcome improvements, with headlights now illuminating a wider and longer area.
Additionally, track directional signs have been angled to face the oncoming cars directly, making high-speed turns much more intuitive.
Special thanks to veteran speedrunner Space_Croquette for his invaluable insights that directly inspired many of these adjustments!
Steam Next Fest & Upcoming News
Nitrania has been officially invited to the Steam Next Fest (June 2026). The goal right now is to get a polished, high-octane demo ready in time for the event - fingers crossed it all comes together!
On top of that, an absolute dream collaboration is currently in the works. It’s a huge honor for Nitrania, and if you are a fan of the classic 90s racing era, you're going to love this one. More details will be shared very soon!
What's Next?
Work continues on creating new tracks and implementing features in preparation for early playtests.
