Today's Update
Today's update is mostly making sure the game runs stably and some graphical improvements. These are lesser changes while our focus remains the next chapter of the game!
Features
Lighting Occlusion for Day/Night Rendering
This leads to better clarity when light objects light up the night time in the ninja world! Previously, lights were somewhat dull because they were rendered over the Day/Night mask. But what pixel data there was left is limited due to the Day/Night overlay covering the pixel art below it.
Lighting Occlusion for the Day/Night rendering means the Day/Night Overlay never covers the pixel art, and Lighting actually lights up that area vibrantly without pixel data loss.
(Artists) Added an import graphic button for testing new art assets
Balance
Instant Cast Unloading while someone is stun locked Combo Balance Update
All Jutsu that do not have Cast Times and Self Stun (aka. End Cast) now by default have a 0.3s Global Cooldown applied to all Jutsu. This change is targeted at overpowered combos caused by overlapping masteries. This cooldown window allows us to limit the amount of Jutsu you can proc within the span of a split second.
While each mastery has a small amount of instant cast jutsu as is, the problem comes when picking two masteries with a higher amount of instant cast jutsu for the purpose of this overpowered strategy that has dominated the meta for too long.
These overlapping masteries are problematic because they make certain mastery combinations much more powerful than others, which in turn reduces player choice as you are forced into the meta.
This further has to be fixed because as we add more jutsu into the mix with future updates, these combos will become increasingly difficult to balance without restrictions.
Hisui Fans (Experimental)
The Hisui Fans proved overpowered as an early-game fan weapon and required adjustments to align with their intended strength.
Hisui Fans range reduced from 4 to 3 tiles
Hisui Fans attack speed changed from 2.1s to 2.4s
Silk Moth Insect Web snare reduced from 2.5s to 1s
Shuriken, Kunai & Senbons now have a 0.3s Global Cooldown as well
