Long time no see, adventurers!
On August 20, 2021, the light Rogue dungeon adventure 3D action game "Never Return", developed by YeMuNetWork and published by Cyberisle Inc, was released globally on Steam.
At the same time, this is the first game we published as a publisher.
In fact, many fans wonder why we want to be a publisher.
Cyberisle.inc has been working hard to discover as many outstanding works as possible. We want to bring more happiness and create more value for players. The original intention of being a publisher is very simple — to bring more good games to players.
As a 3D random dungeon action game with Roguelike elements,"Never Return" is undoubtedly a gameplay-priority game — plentiful weapon and talent system, solid real-time combat experience, and changeable game combinations routines... Every battle is a hearty experience, also keep going further and further in random maps and enemy challenges.
There are more than 500 talents with different effects, a total of 20 talents branches with different characteristics and gameplay, and it is definitely not a monotonous numerical superposition, it is a talent that can truly provide different gameplay and experience. Druid, Titan Warrior, Keeper of the Light, Paladin, Elementalist, Call of the Undead, Shield Warrior, Executioner... You can find any class style and trait you can imagine.
To be honest, Never Return is far from perfect. Since the game is still an Early Access game (EA), we have updated dozens of versions since the game was released, including bug fixes, content additions, balance adjustments, etc.
On the one hand, the reason that we made hundreds of fixes is the game is still in early access, and we want to meet the needs of players who bought the game as much as possible because they trust this game. On the other hand, like everyone in the development team, we want to feel each player's true emotions, and try our best to solve every problem...
Although we didn't update any content in the past few months, we've been busy refactoring the code of Never return.
And the reason why we do this is when we tested the Switch and mobile versions, we found that the original code structure could not run efficiently on these two platforms, and it was also difficult to support the multiplayer online mode. In order to bring a better and more efficient Never Return to all our players, we had to spend a lot of time, energy, and cost to refactor this.
For this reason, we have not updated and maintained the existing version in recent months due to manpower and many other reasons. Of course, even if we add new content now, we still have to refactor it later, which will increase a lot of work for us, and it will also cause the development of the new version to slow down.
At that moment, we all agree that such a "Never Return" is not enough to meet the standards that can be presented to players. We need more time to carefully improve the game.
But to be honest, making such a decision is very difficult for both us and YeMuNetWork.
According to our estimation with YeMuNetWork, it will take us at least a year and tens of thousands of dollars to create a game version that can satisfy us and present it to everyone. The Switch version, multiplayer online functions, richer game maps, sound effects, and other content will be added.
Of course, just relying on game sales may not be enough to support us to do this. Therefore, in the near future, we will start crowdfunding for the Switch version of "Never Return" on Kickstarter. At that time, we sincerely hope players who like this game can support us.
Last but not least, if you haven't experienced this game, the steam version of Never Return is on sale now. Save 35% on Never Return for only $9.09. Players who have an interest can use the link below. Steam portal→ https://store.steampowered.com/app/1612620
The article seems a little bit long but it only has one purpose, which is to tell you guys that we'll do everything we can to make this game the best it can be for every player who loves it.
All the best, team Never Return
