Neptune Flux changes
This build includes lots of changes, fixes, and optimizations in preparation for release. There are still a few small pieces of content missing, mostly related to Kickstarter rewards (including backer credits), but the current version is nearing a release candidate.
Changes
10 new Steam Achievements are now available.
Added an introductory title sequence at the start of a new game.
Many new music tracks and cues have been added.
Maximum number of flares has been decreased to 3.
The main menu has been redesigned.
Added a new Pause menu that allows for exiting to desktop.
The A.Q.U.A. Base dock menu and Mission Log have been redesigned for simplicity and better legibility in VR.
Added a message when starting a new game that points out the mission log button.
Screen resolutions with a 4:3 aspect ratio are now supported.
Dive pod glass has been removed in favor of support beams for improved VR comfort. Support beams are not visible in non-VR mode.
Fixes
Addressed an issue where boosts would sometimes stop abruptly. Boosts can now only be used one at a time and will not stack acceleration.
Fixed an issue where some menu items would appear to be too dim.
Reduced load times on startup.
Optimized physics and audio file loading for better performance.
Optimized loading for energy sources and collectible objects.
Optimized loading and graphics performance in the "Genesis" mission.
Fixed a crash that could occur while using sonar.
Fixed an issue where the battery meter sound effect may not load properly.
Fixed a graphics issue where menus clip nearby geometry.
