Neptune Flux changes
This release marks the start of the Neptune Flux beta period. The game is now in a feature complete state and can be played from beginning to end! There's still more things to improve, menus to add, and bugs to fix, but this release marks a major milestone in the life cycle of the game. If you have access to the game during the beta period and have some feedback, please use the Beta Feedback topic in the Discussion area.
Changes
Added the "Mirage" mission.
Added the "The Grid" mission.
Added the "The Flux" mission.
Abbreviated and edited dialogue in the "Back in the Saddle" mission.
Completing the "Back in the Saddle" mission will now assign the "Mirage" mission.
W.A.V.E. Grid nodes can now only be purchased from A.Q.U.A. Base after the "The Grid" mission has been assigned.
When new objectives are assigned, they will now appear as messages on the HUD.
Several HUD messages and triggers have been retimed to avoid stacking several messages at once.
Reduced the default amount of starting cash for better game balance.
Added several more hydrothermal vent sites near A.Q.U.A. Base.
Glass on the dive pod is now dirtier when in VR for improved comfort.
Fixes
Fixed an issue where collecting an item and then exiting immediately could leave the game save in a broken state.
Added an integrity check at startup to verify mission assignments and completions.
Fixed an issue where visual sonar objects would not highlight properly.
Fixed an issue in the "Genesis" mission where doors may be open by default instead of closed.
Fixed an issue in the "Genesis" mission where an objective was issued incorrectly.
Known Issues
There's no way to gracefully quit the application. Use Alt+F4 on Windows for now.
There's no options menu. This will be added over time.
SteamVR integration is not complete, and could cause issues with the HTC Vive. Results may vary.
The fade in and out on the main menu sometimes freezes while using a VR headset.
Activating a boost and then docking will put the player in a strange location.
Boosts sometimes stop abruptly.
Collectible objects and dive pod upgrades still need to be rebalanced. Currently most players are able to purchase all the upgrades without much of a challenge.
