Repeated intro
Hey Agents. Today we’ve made the decision to remove the “free chat” feature within Neon Abyss 2. This isn’t a step we’re taking lightly, so we wanted to let you know a little more about the reasons why.

Neon Abyss 2 changes
A big part of our work is making sure Neon Abyss 2 is correctly age rated, and that it complies with local laws wherever we launch. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes bits that we don’t often talk about.
A big part of this is the chat feature and how we successfully moderate it. Removing it isn’t something we’re loving having to do, but as a small team here at Veewo, it’s just not possible for us to keep that included and appropriately moderated especially as:
It would significantly affect the overall age rating
With the updating UK social media laws covering chat communication in video games, we would also need to include age-gating functions and age verification systems
It’s sadly not possible for us to effectively moderate a free chat function as well as ensure we comply with the understandable local laws - safety of our players is always a top priority.
To help, we’re instead focusing on the pre-set communications like emotes, to effectively allow you to communicate in multiplayer lobbies. We think this will help in a few ways:
Making communication much faster than manually typing
Meaning that players who speak different languages can still communicate effectively
As we create these, we can make sure they comply with age rating requirements
We hope you understand, and thank you for your support as we work to get Neon Abyss 2 ready for full release!
