addedHoliday Update — Workers & Housing Overhaul Christmas is around the corner and the New Year is close, but before the holidays begin, I wanted to bring one more update to the realm. This update introduces two larger systems that shape how your population grows and settles into the world. Steam post image
addedHousing now defines your realm’s sheltering capacity Tents and Houses no longer create workers outright. Instead, they expand the number of lives your realm can support. When new homes rise, the realm quietly signals that there is space, safety, and purpose — and word spreads far beyond your borders. Steam post image • Workers now arrive gradually, giving the realm a more alive rhythm New settlers reach your realm over time, each arrival influenced by the realm’s overall prosperity and stability. Their pace shifts naturally — sometimes no one arrives, sometimes someone shows up at the right moment, and on healthier days you might see more activity around the edge of your realm. • Population now adjusts naturally when shelter is lost If housing falls, the realm holds on to those it can support. Those without space gradually move on, keeping population aligned with shelter and stability. • Score Points Score values were lightly adjusted to better balance Journeys and Realms. Together, these systems deepen the sense of a living world — one that responds quietly to growth, scarcity, and the choices you make. Steam post image• Minor UI changes Typo corrections, localization updates and wording adjustments were made. ________ I’ll be a bit quieter over the holidays, but the Closed Beta continues quietly in the background. Development fully resumes right after the new year. Thank you for being here at this early stage — your feedback is shaping NEED in all the right ways. May your realm stay thriving, and your mind stay sharp. – Popcorn
