Myth of Empires: Throne changes
As the fires of Season 1 continue to rage, Guilds across the battlefield are beginning to reveal their strength through constant conflict. Over the next month, we will launch the “S2 Preview” series, gradually sharing information about core gameplay, system adjustments, and future optimization directions planned for the new season.
As the first entry in the S2 Preview series, this article introduces the core gameplay system of Season 2 “War of the Eight Princes”.

This is a seasonal gameplay system centered around resource investment and Boundary Marker management. Rather than existing as a standalone ranking mode, it serves as an important part of the Season Guild Point system, continuously influencing the overall competitive landscape between Guilds.
In this system, competition between Guilds will no longer be limited to battlefield victories, but will further expand into multiple layers such as resource allocation, strategic positioning, and risk management.
Core Concept: Boundary Marker Operations & Season Guild Point Generation
In the “War of the Eight Princes” gameplay, Guilds will invest resources into and operate around Boundary Markers.
By investing “Violet Dawn Shells” into Boundary Markers, Guilds can continuously generate “Violet Dawn Essence,” which converts into Season Guild Points at a 1:1 ratio and directly affects overall Guild rankings.
Boundary Markers are the core long-term source of Season Guild Points for Guilds.
Special Note: PvE servers will not generate Purple Star Essence.
Boundary Marker Deployment Limits
Each Guild may deploy a maximum of three Boundary Markers across the entire server at any given time.
This limitation forces Guilds to carefully decide:
Which Boundary Markers deserve long-term investment
Which locations require heavy defense
Which positions are worth risking for greater rewards
Returns Mechanism: More Investment Does Not Always Mean Better Efficiency
Investing more Violet Dawn Shells will continue increasing rewards, but the growth rate will gradually slow as investment scales upward.
This system is designed to provide viable strategies for Guilds of different sizes:
Smaller Guilds can steadily accumulate progress
Larger Guilds must distribute resources more carefully
Competition is no longer simply about stacking resources, but about optimizing investment efficiency.
High-Value Zones: Prayer Pillar Regions
Strategic zones known as Prayer Pillars will appear across the map.
Boundary Markers deployed within these areas will receive a significant increase to Violet Dawn Essence conversion efficiency (approximately 200%), but will also face far more intense conflict.
Due to their exceptional reward bonuses, Prayer Pillar zones are expected to become major hotspots for Guild warfare.
High Investment Means High Exposure
Once the amount of Violet Dawn Shells invested into a Boundary Marker reaches a certain threshold (10,000 or more), that Boundary Marker will become marked and visible to all players on the world minimap.
This means high-value Boundary Markers will inevitably become priority targets for enemy Guilds and enter open conflict.
Additionally, Violet Dawn Shells invested into a Boundary Marker cannot be manually withdrawn. If the Boundary Marker is destroyed, its stored resources will drop into the world for renewed competition, directly impacting future point generation.
If a Level 7 or higher Boundary Marker is destroyed or dismantled, the corresponding Guild will also lose 10% of its Season Guild Points.
Every major investment brings greater rewards, and greater risk.
Resource Sources: Integrated Multi-Gameplay Production
Violet Dawn Shells can be obtained through multiple gameplay systems, including:
Activity systems
Battlefield gameplay
Treasure Map instances
Gathering gameplay
Lucky Pouches
At the same time, several low-interaction resource sources will be adjusted, further tying resource acquisition to active gameplay participation.
Once Boundary Markers are established, conflict will inevitably follow.
In “War of the Eight Princes,” no territory is truly safe, and no advantage remains permanent.
How resources are allocated, when investments are expanded, and whether to contest Prayer Pillars — every decision may shape a Guild’s fate throughout the entire season.
The age of chaos approaches, the throne remains unclaimed.
