Hi everyone,
Still slow progress on the game, and sadly have to go even slower as the kids will start their summer-vacation after next week. A little good news though, the smallest one will finally move up one class, away from babies. So won’t hopefully catch nearly as much sickness :D. (Did some fast calculation, and saw I lost half of my work time on the game to fight viruses instead during this patch).
Regarding the patch though, so it is slowly moving forward as you have noticed, sorry about that, and tbh. It is starting to get on my nerves to keep on finding small issues I have to fix/update with this patch. Like a never ending loop. And had to go down to 40 hours/week on the game (down from 60-80 hours/week).
But anyways, the game now supports abilities with CastTime. Meteor is finished with 6 talents, but sadly I can’t come up with a nice last Tier 3 talent for firebolt, so let me know if you have any good ideas while trying it.
So now the only remaining thing is fixing some minor things like tweaking their potential damage, and a few other small issues. And There might be a bunch after the patch is pushed up, as these changes have more or less affected the whole game. But that is why it is only coming up to experimental-branch, so you can try it, even if it might have a few bugs remaining, rather than have to wait till September or something. And push the patch out soon.
And lastly, thanks everyone for waiting patiently for the patch, this was a super-long haul I never thought I would have to work with. Good news though, now we have robust ability, Talent and AI-systems, and I will only work within those fields until mid 2026. So new bloody new “systems” need to make patches take months to come. (I’m so looking forward to only doing one patch with one new thing at a time, e.g. one new unit, building or ability).
