It is I, your liege penguin SugoiPenguin, here with a bug and balance patch for My Liege. This patch focuses on 3 things:

  1. Fixing Dialogue for improper Old English pronoun usage

  2. Fixing Achievement logic in weird cases

  3. Balancing a few fights and decision points to encourage variety in playthroughs

Bugs

  • Fixed soft lock that could occur in Act 4 during the event "Lost Homestead"

  • Overworld lights reworked to have less "popping" when they come into view. Most noticeable in the market when going to a quest giver and a light source was barely off screen.

  • Lanterns now glow properly when lit.

  • Fixed "Doppelganger" achievement to properly compare names when steam name has special characters in it

  • Watermill wheel's animation smoothly spins

  • Fixed story related achievement to properly get awarded if you went an alternate route

  • Story element where you bet with Lord Carlbridge actually applies the outcome of the bet.

  • Updated hats to grow for some hair styles to clip less. It is not perfect, but significantly better than before.

  • Epilogue endings fixed to provide right details (spoilers make this super vague... oh well)

  • Fight cinematics teleport guards/soldiers to be closer if they are far away, preventing awkward fights where one army is super late.

  • Timing of attacks and deaths improved some in a variety of scenes. Hopefully people don't die without being touched.

  • No longer can click "Load" more than once from main menu save file list.

  • Cinematic dialogue text no longer overflows if you customize characters to have REALLY long names.

  • Plague stat now shows red when increasing and green when decreasing.

  • Generic NPC quest givers now maintain the same appearance when they appear in scene.

Balance

  • Updated stat related achievements (for having 0 or 5 of a stat) to be granted whenever a stat is updated. Previously you had to have 0 or 5 at the start of a new week.

  • Gaining trust with the larger houses made easier. Previously it was more difficult than desired to manipulate which house liked you best.

Clean Up

  • Fixed Old English words that I used inconsistently, turns out grammar matters.

    • Thou, thee, thy, thine, hast for example

  • Fixed Old English contractions to be actual contractions.

    • Tis -> 'Tis, Twere -> 'Twere, Twas -> 'Twas

  • Reworded sections where the narration referred to your character in third person weirdly.

  • Simplified wording in spots where it was too painfully Old English.

  • Focused meeple and horse cams in menu updated to view them from the front, not the back.

    • No more zoomed in horse butt cameras (sorry not sorry).

  • In a handful of scenes removed or relocated items that got TOO in the way of the text.

  • Notification icon better, not blurry.

  • More places have light sources, especially newly constructed optional buildings.

  • Long save file names no longer cause text to fall outside of button.
