My Infamous Dungeon changes
Today's update contains a big balance patch, plus a new challenge mode.
The biggest change is buffs are now additive instead of multiplicative. The goal here is to tighten the gap between optimal builds and common strategies. Some players are dealing millions of damage, while most players are only doing a few thousand. Many thought the Hero King wasn't possible to defeat, while at the same time, the Hero King is easily being one-shotted by other players who took advantage of the exponential compounding of multiplicative buffs.
Balance
Percentage buffs are now additive.
Increased EXP gain from defeating a hero from 20 -> 50.
Reduced Hero King HP from 262k -> 65k.
The Hero King has a new passive, Aura of the King, which prevents monsters from healing on level up while he is in the dungeon.
Decreased Brutal Hunger buff from 10% -> 5%.
Decreased Brutal Beast hunger damage reduction passive from 40% -> 25%.
Decreased Rune of Vitality HP bonus from 2% -> 1%.
Runs now start with 5 mana and 5 food.
Shade/Shadow damage share has been reduced from 3% -> 2%.
Empower spell has been increased from 10% -> 30% attack buff.
Gloom/Grim/Wraith reap ability has been reduced from 35% -> 30%.
Skeleton Death March buff has been reduced from 5 -> 4 damage.
Increased the strength of normal heroes.
Increased the amount of monsters that appear in loot.
Evil Crystal buffs have been reduced from 25% -> 10%, 50% -> 30%, and 100% -> 50%.
Mildly Evil Crystals no longer give an HP buff.
Crystal Chamber dungeon plan now gives the level 2 crystal instead of the level 1.
Heartkeeper's attack buff passive has been changed from giving 2% on attack -> 5% on celebration.
General
A new challenge mode has been added. Complete a run in standard mode to unlock it, and gain access to new difficulty modifiers.
Monster draws have less RNG and guarantee a more even spread of monster types.
Bug fixes
Fixed an issue where a plugged-in controller could take focus and hide the mouse/prevent clicking on the map screen.
But what even is a multiplicative buff? A monster has two +25% damage buffs. This can be computed two different ways. Additive: 25 + 25 = +50% Multiplicative: 1.25 * 1.25 = +56%
