Steam post image Behind-the-scenes Online Preparations

  • Lots of behind the scenes work to connect MuseSwipr to our work in progress server. There should be no changes to the current MuseSwipr experience and how the game plays.

  • The purpose of this is for us to gather early data and test how everything holds up before we add the real features (*cough* MUSE RATING *cough*).

  • If you find any bugs or unexpected behaviour, please give us your feedback in our official Discord! (On the Discord you'll also get sneak peek into the mentioned future features ;) )

Steam post image Hit Window Update

  • Updated the hit window timing so that the "OKAY" hit window is constant across all APs (approximately AP5), and increased the scoring version.

  • This is part of preparing for future rating calculations, so plays are scored on a consistent hit window.

Steam post image New Song Grades

  • Expanded the grade ladder!

  • Newly addedC+, B+, A+, S+, SS, SS+, SSS, and the brand new top grade, SSS+.
  • SSS+ is now the grade awarded for a perfect 100%.

  • All of these are fully skinnable.

  • Also the space for rank icons were enlarged in leaderboard panels and in the post-game screen.

Steam post image Input Calibration Simplification

  • Simplified the Input Calibration options to remove the following sliders:

  • Turn Leniency (behind the scenes the slider didn't actually do anything anyways)

  • Swipe End Velocity Ratio

  • Slow Smoothing

  • Fast Smoothing

  • Turning Input Stabiliser

If your presets changed any of the sliders, they have been reset to a constant value that all players will use. It may take some time to get used to the changes.

Steam post image What's Next?

A rating system is a work in progress and something you can start playing around with if you join our Discord! All new scores submitted with this update should be eligible for rating in the future. Our immediate next steps will be to refine the difficulty calculation, as well as improve the behind-the-scenes structure. Also, new note type soon! The difficulty calculation will also be accounting for that too :3

Also... RIP can no longer put bugcat capoo emojis here because Steam will not allow showing images hosted on not Steam :(
