MudGate changes
Thanks for sticking with MudGate while I chip away at the rough edges!
Over the past few months I’ve focused on three things: polishing how it plays (including a slicker mini-map), streamlining tutorials, and implementing performance fixes.
Every change is aimed at making your sessions smoother.
This update also lays the groundwork for me to focus on more content, so expect fresh questlines, additional terrain, and deeper functionality for the Nexus Relay in the near future.
Your feedback keeps the forge hot, so keep it coming and I’ll keep delivering.

What I’ve updated so far:
Realm
The Nexus Server Relay is now online and sends game events out to each realm that is connected.
Lowbird Forest and Icemire now has brand-new terrain, secrets, and monster species.
A mysterious wizard NPC has appeared near Icemire’s portal hub.
- Dungeon revampsmarter NPC distribution and several brand-new dungeon inhabitants.
Combat clarity: weapon damage numbers now pop over enemies.
- Balance pass on gearinvalid equipment bonuses purged; Item-Bonus-Effects generator fixed.
New Features
One-click expandable mini-map, plus optional direction markers and a live camera-rotation icon.
Window control: Ctrl + R — quick resize • F11 — instant fullscreen • Esc — toggles system menu
Inventory icons regenerated for sharper visuals.
Steam Cloud sync and a Chromium rendering engine for smoother, cross-device play.
Linux and Mac not verified yet.
Tutorial streamlined (new “Interactive Commands” step, anchored window).
MudGate now shows in-world date/time, keeping everyone on the same timeline.
Most Important Bug Fixes
Skull-bomb objective and Aid/Adrenaline now trigger correctly even at 0 HP/Energy.
Stuck-NPC movement bug eliminated.
Rare inventory-icon loading failure and bag-inside-bag exploit resolved.
Effects now always clear when they expire or when you change realms.
Multiple performance boosts and tighter error handling across client and server.
