Morganica: Bloody Harvest changes
Beginning
In March 2021, a group of people, united by a common aspiration and many years of experience in the materialization of their imagination, decided to join efforts and start a horror game project. They planned to create the City, opened for everyone to visit, in which people and zombies are fighting for survival, jointly opposing the forces of Evil.
By December 2021, the first VR prototype for the Oculus Quest 2 helmet and a package of game documentation were created, which made it possible to assess the huge potential of the Project and the impressive amount of effort required for its implementation.
Development
The events of that period in the field of VR technologies and in the gaming market in general made significant adjustments to the plans of the “founding fathers”. In March 2022, work began on the creation of a demo version designed to clarify the goals and objectives of the Project, and to attract the necessary funding.
By the end of July 2023, significant changes were made to the general scenario and lore of the Morganica world, the basic locations and concepts of the main characters of the game were finalized, original game mechanics requiring further implementation were described, the game documentation was completely redesigned, and an action plan for the implementation of the Project was developed.
These days
On August 1, 2023, the company “SPS Solutions DMCC”, which has sufficient competence and capacity to solve the tasks, was entrusted with the creation of a game demo fragment. Its publication is planned to open in December of this year.
What awaits the players
A game fragment based on the main plot of the Morganica project.
A cinematic style of gameplay presentation with the preservation of interactivity and a certain degree of variability of events, usual for computer games.
The opportunity to get acquainted with the events described in the game fragment in a fully cinematic mode, while preserving the interactivity of the space surrounding the Viewer.
Retention mechanics that make the game fragment, to some extent, unpredictable, encouraging you to go through it again and again, each time discovering something new.
First of all, it is planned to implement a PC mode of passing the Game. At the beginning of 2024, a VR mode will be added according to the Open XR standard.
Goals
In 2024, the Morganica project should move from the stage of formation and experiments to the stage of full-fledged production. This will be possible thanks to the experience gained, a clear understanding of the goals and objectives formed, attracting the necessary investments and, most importantly, a community of Players who have shown interest in the ideas of the Project, supporting it in wish lists on Steam, comments on its pages on social networks.
