August 2024 Updates

Hi everyone! August is (somehow) almost over, so we're back with another dev log. Not much to update unfortunately.

We don't really have any ideas for that though (besides maybe a notebook, though that seems a bit expensive for probably not a lot of interest) so if you have anything you'd like to see, let us know!

Hi everyone! August is (somehow) almost over, so we're back with another dev log.

Not much to update unfortunately. You may have noticed the lack of updates on social media, and it's because we're stockpiling things to post around the Kickstarter. So you'll see a lot more of us end of September/all October/November. Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Unless anything else changes, we're planning to launch our Kickstarter on October 22! The extended demo will come out 1-2 weeks before that, and we'll also be participating in the October Steam Next Fest with it.

Writing

  • As mentioned last dev log, writing's been done but we spent this month polishing it. It's around 45K words now, and we've added a side story in as well

Programming Polishing on this front as well, though the most obvious additions are:

  • Profiles menu that gets updated as MC's thoughts about them change over the story. You can get a glimpse of it here!

  • Story mode! This is different from the "Right Choice Indicator". Story mode will mark the correct answer for deductions/logic stuff, while the right choice indicator will mark correct answers for affection point increase with the boys. We're doing it this way because we thought some people might want hints for the detective parts but not the romance parts, and vice versa. Both can be toggled on/off at any time

Art

  • Made progress on the sprites and CGs/mini CGs! We've been focusing on the sprites exclusive to the second demo (which is why they haven't been shown) but once we make it to the side characters in the mini demo we'll start showing them off

Kickstarter

  • Graphics are almost done
